The Labor Curve App is an educational tool to help providers better understand a womans progress during spontaneous labor. This easy-to-use app effectively illustrates when patients are dilating appropriately and offers suggestions (other than cesarean section) for aiding their progress. This app can be used at the bedside in real time, and retrospective data entry is also possible.

To help Obstetrics providers better understand women’s progress during spontaneous labor, Labor Curve provides an educational tool to enter and track dilation measurements in real time. This easy-to-use app illustrates each patient’s labor curve, plotted against data published in the study by the Consortium of Safe Labor (Zhang et. al., 2010). When patients are not dilating appropriately, the app offers suggestions (other than cesarean section) for aiding their progress.

Allows the provider to:
● Enter and track patients’ dilation progress beginning at 3 cm
● Track an unlimited number of patients, simultaneously
● View labor curve in clear graphical format
● Determine the acceptable time in which a patient should progress in dilation (based on 95th percentiles reported in the study)
● Automatically factor in nulliparity versus multiparity in labor progressions.
● Easily determine which patients are due for an exam

Requirements:
● iOS 6 or greater

Labor Curve does not require patient identifiers and automatically removes charts after twenty-four hours.

Labor Curve is not intended to replace physician judgement or be taken as medical advice. This app is not endorsed by the Consortium of Safe Labor. This app solely utilizes data from the Zhang study and not from other existing labor curves, such as Friedman Curve.
